FAQs
Welcome to the FAQ section! Here you'll find answers to common questions about the book, how to get your copy, and a bit more about my journey writing it. If your question isn't answered here, please feel free to reach out via my contact page.
What age group is Moons and Shadows intended for?
Moons and Shadows is the first installment in an unfolding fantasy series, and because future storylines are still being developed, the author strongly recommends this book for readers ages 18 and older.
While the story is steeped in fantasy and immersive worldbuilding, it also explores emotionally complex and mature themes - including the aftermath of sexual assault, psychological abuse, gaslighting, the healing journey through EMDR, the long-term repercussions of narcissistic relationships, and the many layered experiences of intimacy when healing from trauma.
Because of this emotional depth and psychological nuance, we recommend that parents or guardians read the book first before deciding whether it’s appropriate for younger readers. The story is ultimately one of resilience, transformation, and reclaiming voice but it does not shy away from the difficult truths that make that journey necessary.
What is Moons and Shadows about?
In Moons and Shadows, Runa has lived in darkness, her past buried and her quintessence forgotten -until now. Markings on her forearm awaken memories and visions of distant realms, pulling her toward a fate she doesn’t yet understand. As the unbinding process begins, she’s drawn closer to a world on the brink of collapse and to a love both elusive and powerful. With an unknown key tied to the future’s survival, Runa must uncover the truth before everything unravels.
