1 Day until launch: One Big Dream, Many Quiet Steps

When people ask me where this story began, I wish I could give them a clean, polished origin. A date. A lightning bolt. A moment of clarity.

But the truth is… Moons and Shadows came together the way tides shape the shore: in pieces, in layers, in movement that’s hard to track until you finally step back and realize—

You built something.

And it’s real.

The earliest version started with Chapter One. Then Chapter One became the Prologue. Then I flowed forward into Chapter Two…

Only to realize Chapter Two needed more heart.

Chapter Three whispered back to Chapter Two. Chapter Four looped me back to the Prologue.

And then Chapter Five broke me wide open.

I wove this story like a tapestry—looping threads, reworking tension, layering in emotion. It wasn’t a straight line. It was an ebb and flow. An inhale and exhale. A choice to keep returning to the page, even when I didn’t have all the answers yet.

And slowly—this story started to breathe.

The Journey to Launch

I could not have done this without the people who showed up.

Sarra Cannon’s Heart Breathings community gave me tools when I had none. She made the mountain of indie publishing feel like something I could climb—one heart-led step at a time. One of my beta readers asked if I’d ever create my own indie author course someday… and I asked her, Why?

Sarra already built it. And she built it beautifully.

If you’re dreaming of publishing your own story, I can’t recommend her enough.

And if you’re looking for another rock-solid resource? Novel Marketing on YouTube is packed with strategy, honesty, and insight for indie authors at every stage.

Because the truth is—you can do this. You just need to stop waiting for permission.

There will be noise. There will be surface-level fluff and pressure to follow trends.

Ignore it.

Dive deeper.

Ask better questions.

Be curious. Be discerning. Be real.

This dream? It’s not supposed to stay pretty and far away.

Take your dream. Look at it.

Stare at it. Hold it. Smell it. Breathe it. Taste it.

Show up for it like it’s the breath in your lungs.

Don’t half-ass it.

I’m still learning how to celebrate what it took to get here.

I’m not great at celebrating myself.

But I am proud of this.

Proud of every quiet decision.

Every moment I kept going.

Every layer of truth I dared to put on the page.

Because this dream didn’t come to life in one big moment.

It came to life in many small ones.

And today?

It’s yours too.

Moons and Shadows is here.

Let’s begin.
